PTFE Tape Width
The most commonly available widths of our PTFE tape range from 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) to 1 inch (25.4 mm). These widths are suitable for most standard pipe fittings and connections. For custom width, thickness and length, please contact us.
PTFE Tape 1/2 Inch (12 mm)
This size is typically used for smaller pipe fittings with thread diameters around 1/2 inch or smaller, such as household plumbing fixtures like faucets, showerheads, and small pipes.
PTFE Tape 3/4 Inch (19 mm)
This size is commonly used for medium-sized pipe fittings with thread diameters between 3/4 inch and 1 inch, such as water heaters, irrigation systems, and larger plumbing fixtures.
PTFE Tape 1 Inch (25 mm)
This size is typically used for larger pipe fittings with thread diameters of 1 inch or greater., such as those found in industrial piping systems, and commercial plumbing systems.
PTFE Tape Colors
Our PTFE tap is also available in various colors to indicate its specific usage. Here are some common color codes for PTFE tape.
White PTFE Tape
White PTFE tape is the most common and standard color of PTFE tape. It can be applied on the thread with diameters less than 3/8 inch. It is used for general-purpose sealing of threaded connections in plumbing applications.
Yellow PTFE Tape
Designed specifically for gas lines (such as propane and natural gas). Yellow PTFE tape is used on 1/2 inch to 2 inch threads. It is thicker and denser than white tape to provide enhanced sealing properties for gas connections.
Pink PTFE Tape
Pink PTFE tape is heavy duty and typically used for water lines. It can also be used on 1/2 inch to 2 inch threads. It is a higher-density tape and offers improved sealing capabilities in high-pressure water systems.
Green PTFE Tape
Green PTFE tape is commonly employed for oxygen systems. It meets the requirements and standards for oxygen-compatible materials, ensuring the safe and leak-free.
Grey PTFE Tape
Gray PTFE tape is typically labeled as stainless steel tape. It contains nickel metal particles to anti-seize and anti-gall, which will enhance its sealing capabilities in stainless steel pipe connections.
Red PTFE Tape
Red PTFE tape is designed to withstand higher temperatures and pressure than standard white tape, making it suitable for sealing connections in hot water pipes or heating systems.

ePTFE Tape
